 If to regard the ostent of the Image as the likeness of God (ontological gift of the Spirit), representing it as a process, then the expressionistic plastic arts of V. Kharitonov is fully justified from the theological point of view. Widely applying the lineament “layering” effect, honed by him to perfection, the artist shows the dynamics and complexity of sainthoodlikeness of one or sometimes of the whole convocation of human selves. V. Kharitonov hardly ever appears as a “neat” abstractionist which is caused by the disparity of the material parts in the aether – unsteady environment of his oeuvre
